WSET Level 3 ESSENTIAL WINES
Podcast series

The following series was created to help learners of the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines review for the theory exam.

Although the content is solely derived from the WSET Level 3 textbook and our in-class tasting notes, it proposes a different entry point to your revisions: The Essential Wines from the recommended tasting samples as listed in your WSET Level 3 Specification on page 21.

This is Wine & Spirit IQ's interpretation of the Course Specification that a focus on understanding these wines will help learners adequately prepare for the short written answers to open questions at the exam.

Often, candidates struggle with the theory exam because most questions call upon on learners' ability to apply knowledge from  different chapters of the book  to explain factors in the vineyard and the winery that affect the style, quality and price of essential wines.

In this podcast series, each episode will cover one essential wine featured during your WSET Level 3 class. It will propose typical organoleptic description following the WSET's systematic approach to tasting. Then, it will discuss the growing environment, relevant viticulture practices, winemaking options and other factors that affect the style, quality and price of the wine. Finally it gives tips on optimum storage, service and food pairing.

The episodes below are free samples.

Students enrolled in the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with Wine & Spirit IQ will have free access. Otherwise, the full podcast series will be made available for a small fee.
